2. Disabling Ratings for Specific Content
Now that ratings have been enabled for all content, there may be some content where it is preferred not to be rated. In this case, a specific asset can have the ratings option disabled. Navigate to the content (video, playlist, live event or series), click on its sub-menu Display Options, scroll to the Asset Ratings section and disable ratings for this specific asset.
3. Playlists: Ratings for Individual Components
By default, when ratings are turned on for content, for a playlist it is initially set to be a rating for the entire playlist as a whole. If preferred, that can be changed to instead be for each component of the playlist. Navigate to PLAYLISTS > select a playlist title > click the Display Options sub-menu and scroll down to the Asset Ratings section. Enable the option to collect individual component ratings.
Enabling this feature will then present rating options for each of the individual titles within the playlist:
4. Reviewing Ratings
The current ratings results can be viewed at any time. Ratings are tallied in real time, so either of the following methods will have up to the second voting results.
For a specific title, click on the asset from its content area and in the right-hand sidebar the voting results are present.
To review a report on all titles' ratings, navigate to REPORTS and from the drop down selection choose "Assets Rating Report". Verify it will be delivered to the correct email address, or edit that to send it elsewhere. Leave the % field empty to generate all ratings, or add in a watched % to only get ratings from viewers who watched at least x% of a title.
5. Frequently Asked Questions
- Do viewers see a cumulative or average score, or the scores of other viewers?
No - only administrators see cumulative/average scores. Viewers only see their own rating. - Does generating the report end the scoring, or can I check it multiple times?
Generating the report doesn't end the scoring. You can check it whenever and it will give you up-to-date results for all ratings so far. - Can a patron change their vote?
Yes. If a patron returns to the content's landing page they will see the vote they already made. They can change their vote, for example by clicking on the thumbs up again (to remove it) or updating the number of stars they'd like to choose.
